Light Rail Construction Environmental Oversight
Link Light Rail is expanding, and construction of the rail line involves complex stormwater management elements. Herrera is providing environmental compliance services for construction of the East Link Extension project (SR 520 to Overlake Transit Center) in Redmond. We conduct weekly inspections of the construction site with inspectors from Sound Transit and Washington State Department of Ecology, as well as contractors, and prepare detailed inspection reports. Leveraging broad experience in hazardous materials management, stormwater management and permitting, temporary erosion and sediment control, best management practices, and wetlands, our staff proactively identifies problems and recommends potential solutions. We communicate with team members to keep up with changing project conditions and to quickly resolve non-compliance issues. Herrera reviews project plans and specifications and comments on contractor submittals. Our staff qualifications include Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL), Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC), Washington State Site Assessor certifications, and Hazwoper 40-hour training- and we have an excellent safety record.
