Swan Creek Park Expansion

Herrera is providing architectural and engineering (A&E) design services to support Parks Tacoma in restoring a recently acquired property within the Swan Creek Park corridor. The project site is currently developed with a single-family residence and outbuildings and has been identified by Parks Tacoma as an opportunity to improve public access to parks and trails for surrounding neighborhoods. Herrera’s scope of work includes designing the removal of all existing structures, as well as above-ground and below-ground improvements, and developing a restoration plan that incorporates native plantings and seeding to return the site to a natural condition. This design will support ecological functions, promote environmental sustainability, and facilitate the property’s transformation into an accessible and ecologically beneficial extension of the Swan Creek Park corridor.
