Wayne Watne
Wayne has 30 years of fisheries experience along the west coast. He has a great understanding of the physical and biological needs of salmon and forage fish. Wayne understands the dynamic natural processes that influence stream and nearshore habitats. He has a heart for taking veterans and underprivileged children fishing and experiencing nature. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Fisheries Enhancement Group and serves on their Habitat and Education and Outreach Committees.
Favorite Species:
Kingfisher. They are always fluttering around being busy and occasionally getting to go fishing.
Hidden Talent:
Emcee at Kids Fishing events (this will be year 14).
Proudest Moment on the Job:
Pulling together affected tribes, WDFW, contractor, and volunteers to coordinate the removal and exclusion of 150 adult pink salmon from a project area that showed up several weeks early so the project could continue.
