Katie Rodriguez

Scientist

I’m a limnologist and environmental scientist focused on lake and watershed monitoring, management, planning, and protection. I enjoy the challenge of turning complex ecological data into decisions and connecting with people who care so deeply about their communities. I love to inspire curiosity and wonder about the natural world, and find the most peace when I’m outside—quiet, still, and fully immersed in nature, with nowhere else to be!

Hidden Talent:
Baking (especially chocolate chip cookies) and crocheting dog beds and baby blankets.

Proudest Moment on the Job:
While presenting the results of our monitoring work and a plan to improve lake water quality, I connected with residents who shared such genuine gratitude for our help and passion for stewardship. Because not only did we talk about the science, but we also provided validation for their personal experiences and facilitated real change. Their response was a powerful reminder of why this work matters!
