Ian Mostrenko, PE

Associate Engineer

I grew up in a rural area with a large, pristine stream running through my family’s property. Within a decade, I watched urban development reduce my childhood riparian and fishing playground into a barren wasteland; hence, fueling my passion for wetland and riverine restoration. I’ve been a Water Resource Engineer at Herrera for over 20 years, focusing mostly on habitat restoration for the past 15 years. When I’m not working, I’m outdoors…somewhere anywhere…fishing, hiking, running, training for ironman triathlons, or coaching soccer.

Favorite Species:
Polar Bear. Why? Strength, speed, power, beauty. I hope my daughter’s children will actually get to see a polar bear.
