Andrea MacLennan
Senior Coastal Geomorphologist
I am an interdisciplinary scientist, focused on integrating coastal ecological and geomorphic processes to inform management, outreach, restoration and protection in the Salish Sea. I have lived and recreated throughout this beautiful region for most of my life. I enjoy sea kayaking, paddle-boarding, sailing, hiking and flying kites with my family whenever I get the chance.
Favorite Species:
I have many favorite species – all from the nearshore - Belted King Fishers, Pacific Madrones, surf smelt,…just to name a few. I am also an avid agate hunter.
Proudest Moment on the Job:
Mapping coastal geomorphic shoretypes across hundreds of miles of Puget Sound shoreline by boat.
