Tamara Dendall
Engineer

At Herrera, I have the opportunity to plan and design infrastructure that benefits communities while restoring and protecting natural landscapes. Working on restoration projects with a focus on enhancing rivers, wetlands, and other ecosystems allows me to tackle practical challenges and stay committed to environmental stewardship. Outside of work, I like to paint, garden, hike, ski, and most importantly, spend time with family and friends.

- Favorite Quote:
- “If you will stay close to nature, to its simplicity, to the small things hardly noticeable, those things can unexpectedly become great and immeasurable.”
– Rilke
- Favorite Species & Why:
- Sea otters remind me of growing up in Northern California and freediving with my family along the coast. In addition to being incredibly cute, sea otters play a key role in supporting the health of Northern California’s kelp forests. By eating sea urchins, they help keep urchin populations from overgrazing on kelp, which in turn benefits this crucial marine ecosystem.
