Shawree Zhang

Scientist

I have always known that I wanted a career related to both humans and the environment, and my undergraduate studies in environmental science only solidified that belief. At Herrera, I have the opportunity to work with incredible, like-minded people on a wide range of projects, whether by doing fieldwork or writing reports. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, crocheting, and hanging out with my friends.

Favorite Species:
Dark-eyed junco (Junco hyemalis). They’re the perfect shape (small and round), look like they’ve been dipped in white paint, and I get to see and hear them every day. What’s not to love?

Hidden Talent:
Origami.

Education
B.S. in Environmental Science and Resource Management, University of Washington
