Neil Schaner, PE

Senior Engineer

Ever since pursuing a civil engineering education I have been fascinated by water’s role at the nexus of the built and natural environments. I’m driven knowing that an appropriate transition to a sustainable, more natural water future can be fully realized, even in dense urban settings. My job is to engineer the transition. My goal outside of work is to pursue movement until exhausted then hone my cooking skills and read a book.

Favorite Quote:
"Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." - Martin Luther King, Jr
Favorite Species:
Anna’s hummingbird (Calypte anna). Other than the amazing aerobatics, there once was a hummingbird that frequented a wire outside my apartment window. He sat in almost the same spot every summer day for two years, so I named him Herbert. I’ll always remember Herbert.
