Mike Spillane, PE

President and Chief Executive Officer

Having grown up in Alaska, I’m equally at home in remote wilderness areas as well as problem solving and strategizing with my municipal clients in Seattle. I’m passionate about applying engineering and science with common sense implementation. With a can-do attitude and a goal of making a difference every day, my motto is do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Lucky for me I am surrounded by talented coworkers always willing to tackle a challenge. For me, there is nothing better than rolling up my sleeves and problem solving with my design teams. And I love kicking the dirt out on a river restoration or solid waste construction site even more. When not at work you can find me hiking and hunting in the high country of Alaska and Montana or tackling another home remodel.

Favorite Species:
Canis familiaris – Labrador Retriever. Since I have been 3 years old, I have had a lab as a companion in the field and at home. They have always inspired me with their unyielding dedication, their desire to please, and their willingness to work hard. At the end of a hard day, they are always eager to greet you, loyal, and loving. Traits we should all aspire to.
