George Ritchotte, PWS

Associate Scientist

I was never first pick for sports teams as a child because I paid way more attention to the grasshoppers in the outfield than I did to the ball. Unlike most childhood passions, my interest in wildlife never waned, and I decided to make that passion my job. I now specialize in technical and regulatory issues for endangered species and aquatic resources. I perform habitat assessments, wildlife surveys, and wetland and stream delineations, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. When I’m not working in the office you can find me puttering in the garden, brewing beer, playing with my dogs, or backpacking in the mountains.

Favorite Species:
Black-capped chickadee, because they weigh half an ounce, but they’ll still try to beat the stuffing out of you while you’re banding them.
