Growing up in the Sonoran desert, I established a close relationship to water conservation and awareness from an early age. Growing up I recall being in awe at the monsoons in my hometown and thinking about the repercussions of flash flooding. Getting to explore stormwater infrastructure and watershed management approaches in a new ecological context is so exciting as it allows me to enrich both my curiosity for the world beyond my and my admiration and understanding for the land I grew up in.

Education:
B.S. Environmental Engineering, University of Arizona
B.S. Applied Mathematics, University of Arizona
Favorite Species & Why:
Ocotillo (fouquieria splendens). They are all over my hometown of Tucson, Arizona and I always thought they looked like giant desert seaweed. I loved seeing people use them for fencing their homes too, it felt like a natural integration of living in the desert.
