Coastal Restoration

Herrera conducts coastal restoration projects along a range of marine shoreline types, from embayments to bluffs and spits. With our expertise in low impact development and green stormwater management, we create sustainable and aesthetically pleasing shoreline habitat features that also offer public access to these sensitive environments. We understand the challenges and opportunities involved in constructing improvements in remote coastal environments, and we draw on our experience to maximize what can be achieved with available funding. In our design process, we consider the relationship of the shoreline’s configuration to function, erosion control, land use, access, habitats, aesthetics, and other issues. Our services range from planning and analysis through design to post-construction monitoring.
