Herrera supported Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group and the City of Covington in development of a Master Plan and restoration alternatives for the 9-acre Wingfield Open Space to improve its ecological functions and to provide compatible recreational and environmental uses for surrounding residents. The Master Plan is being used to guide capital and maintenance investments and as a framework for public use and volunteer engagement. This master plan thoughtfully integrated stream and habitat restoration, water quality improvements and stormwater retrofits, trail improvements and community-building. With this compelling vision in hand, our clients were able to secure additional grant funding to advance the preferred alternative through 60% design.
