Stateside Student Housing Development

Herrera was the civil engineer for this 513-bed, 164-unit student housing project. The project redeveloped two parcels in downtown Bellingham, targeting LEED-Gold. 903 N State Street, is the smaller and quieter of the two buildings, aimed at juniors, seniors, couples, graduate students and recent graduates working in Bellingham.  929 N State Street, is the larger building aimed at undergraduates seeking a more social, lively and immersive “living-learning” experience and containing the majority of the project’s amenity spaces. Herrera provided stormwater management and utility design, as well as frontage improvements and evaluation of rainwater reuse and other sustainability measures.
