Jeff Parsons, PhD, PE Herrera led the retrofit planning and engineering design of Deception Pass State Park’s Cornet Bay/Hoypus Point Day Use and Marine Facilities for Washington State Parks. The project evaluated three major elements:
- Marine Facilities Redevelopment;
- Day Use Facility Upgrade; and
- Habitat Restoration Conceptual Design, including bulkhead removal
Herrera developed the conceptual design for the bulkhead removal, along with design guidance throughout the design process. Other services provided by the Herrera team included: watershed and habitat characterization; feasibility assessment, conceptual design, and alternative analysis; engineering; coastal geomorphology; park planning, and recreational facility design; environmental assessment and permitting; and construction administration.
