Beech Street Cleanup

Yakima, WA

Herrera is completing site cleanup and groundwater monitoring at a former asphalt batch plant in Eastern Washington to obtain No Further Action status from the Pollution Liability and Insurance Agency (PLIA). The work is being completed for a confidential client to address historical releases of diesel fuel and gasoline from underground storage tanks (USTs) originally installed in 1968. Herrera completed a Remedial Investigation, oversaw UST decommissioning and soil remediation work, installed a network of groundwater monitoring wells, and treated groundwater in the source area to increase oxygen levels and accelerate biodegradation of residual petroleum hydrocarbons.

By the Numbers

Installed 10 groundwater monitoring wells for this project.
