Herrera Staff Tour Lynnwood's Scriber Lake Park Boardwalk Project
Set within a residential and commercial neighborhood of the City of Lynnwood, Scriber Lake Park contains a unique peat fen wetland ecosystem along Scriber Creek. The Park’s trail system recently received a much-needed upgrade with a new boardwalk and improved paved trails. The completed boardwalk structure provides year-round access to the park for all users while providing habitat improvements allowing the community to experience the lake and wetlands up close while enhancing ecological function.
Led by project engineer Satya Dhital, several Herrera staff from our Seattle office walked the completed trail and saw firsthand how years of work in partnership with the City provides respite and access to nature for the residents of Lynnwood.
Herrera was proud to support the City of Lynnwood through planning, technical analysis, permitting, civil and landscape design, and construction management for the trail. The project was celebrated with a ribbon cutting in June 2025, as covered by The Lynnwood Times. Read the full story here: 🔗https://lynnwoodtimes.com/2025/06/04/scriber-lake/
This $5.5 million project brought together an exceptional team, including the City of Lynnwood, OMA Construction, Lund Opsahl, Ott-Sakai & Associates, and HWA Geosciences. Special thanks to Satya for the staff tour, project manager Chris Webb, and the many Herrera engineers, scientists, and planners who collaborated on this project from concept to completion.
Rain or shine, this trail is well worth the walk. 🥾
