2024 Construction Spotlight: East Orchards Fourth Plain Stormwater Retrofit

Cordata Community Park Phase 2 improvements focused on the southern end of the park and includes a pavilion building, parking lot, picnic shelter, sports courts, landscape features, and associated trails and utilities. Herrera led the civil site design, including hydrologic modeling of on-site stormwater and wetlands and utility improvements.

The next project in our construction spotlight is East Orchards Fourth Plain Stormwater Retrofit in Vancouver, WA. This project addresses a drainage issue and protects ground and surface water resources in a high traffic area.

Best management practices: Bioretention, infiltration trenches, stormfilters

Community Benefit: Depave, aesthetic landscape improvements, trees/shade, water quality improvements

Construction completion date: July 2024

Project Summary: Herrera worked with the City of Vancouver to plan, design and construct bioretention, infiltration facilities, storm filters, and landscape improvements to treat runoff in the East Orchards Basin of the City.
