Drone Support in Engineering Projects

By

Lauren Ode-Giles and Lily Schreder’s article on using drones in engineering work was recently featured as part of the Seattle DJC’s A&E Perspectives 2024. This platform provides industry experts with the opportunity to share novel, exciting, or crucial insights about their work in architecture and engineering.

Lauren Ode-Giles, leading Herrera’s drone program, advocates integrating drones into project phases as an additional data collection method. Drones capture photos and images that can be converted into valuable outputs, including distortion-corrected orthophotos, elevation surfaces, and detailed 3D models.

To learn more about Herrera’s utilization of drones, their applications, and a local case study, read the article here: Engineering Support from the Sky
