Herrera Announces Bellingham Civic Athletic Complex Project

Herrera looks forward to collaborating with RMC Architects, MxM Landscape Architecture and D.A. Hogan & Associates, Inc. on the first phase of planning and assessment for the Civic Athletic Complex located in Bellingham, Washington.

Established in the mid-1950s, the Civic Athletic Complex is a community park providing fields and facilities for youth and adult programs. As Bellingham continues to grow, the City looks to understand the Complex’s potential for development and the improvements needed to equitably meet future community needs.

Herrera will provide civil engineering and natural resources support, evaluating stormwater management facilities, site access and circulation, utility infrastructure, and ecological resources to identify needs and proposed improvements while engaging the community. Future development options established by the team will help the City meet diversity, equity and inclusion goals while supporting other City initiatives such as the Parks Recreation and Open Space Plan, the Climate Action Plan, and habitat and critical areas restoration.
