Albany Street Stormwater Pond Receives 2022 APWA Award

Herrera congratulates Thurston County on winning a 2022 Project of the Year Award in the Environment Less than $5 Million category for the Albany Street Stormwater Pond project. This award recognizes exceptional management, administration, and implementation of public works projects across Washington State.

Our team is proud to have collaborated with Thurston County and community members on this project to design a stormwater facility that doubles as an open-air amphitheater. Completed in 2020, this project addressed drainage and flooding issues by using community input to create a stormwater park that improves water quality while providing the rural community with an amenity.
