Wayne Watne

Senior Fisheries Biologist

Wayne has 30 years of fisheries experience along the west coast of the United States and Canada with a great understanding of the physical and biological needs of salmonids and forage fish. Wayne has worked and fished the west coast from southern Oregon to Bristol Bay, Alaska and is involved in several fishing groups and has a heart for taking underprivileged children fishing. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group

Roosevelt Elk. Majestic moment on the Hoh River with my daughter seeing the antlers of a huge bull elk moving through the fog, calling his cows, and never seeing the bull itself.

Smoking salmon
Proudest Moment on the Job:
Pulling together affected tribes, WDFW, contractor, and volunteers to coordinate the removal and exclusion of 150 adult pink salmon from a project area that showed up several weeks early so the project could continue.
