Fisheries Biologist

I have been drawn to the aquatic environment ever since I splashed in a tide pool as a child. From the smallest stream to the energetic coastal environment, I delight in studying these complex ecosystems. At Herrera, this includes exploring the underwater and shoreline environment in the field, and preparing guideline documents and white papers in the office. On the weekends, I can be found hiking, reading, or working on my house.

I can only pick one?! If so, I choose Haliotis cracherodii (black abalone). These amazing, resilient creatures live in one of the most hostile environments and withstand extreme stresses to keep on keeping on.
