Annie Saunders

Engineer

I find the rainy weather energizing, likely because I grew up in western Washington, so I enjoy that my work has me thinking about precipitation daily. At Herrera, I design infrastructure to improve water quality within the built environment, ideally in a way that complements and takes inspiration from the natural environment. I enjoy working on projects which can engage the community in engineering a healthier environment. Outside of work I might be kicking around a soccer ball, coaching figure skating, exploring trails, or reading a book.

Education:
B.E. Mechanical Engineering, Dartmouth College
Favorite Quote:
“Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.” – Shel Silverstein, excerpt from “Where the Sidewalk Ends”
Favorite Species:
I have always liked puffins—my favorite cereal growing up had fun facts about these distinctive seabirds on the back of the box.
