Jason King, Senior Landscape Architect at Herrera, spoke in May at the annual Ecoroof Symposium in Portland, Oregon. The conference is hosted by Portlands Ecoroof Program and featured local and regional experts sharing scientific research and case studies that explore the true costs and savings of ecoroofs. The event included architects, landscape architects, developers, building owners and facility managers working together to push the boundaries of vegetated roofing in the Northwest.
Portland Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) has recently posted the videos of the speakers online, and we’ve include Jason’s talk on ‘Design+Science: Linking Green Roof Research to Practice’ In the talk, Jason explores today’s complex projects and the need strong connections between design interventions and scientific research to ensure successful outcomes related to green roofs.
