Crowdsourcing Design at a District Scale with the 2030 District Water Goal Calculator

The Seattle 2030 District is a groundbreaking high-performance building district in Downtown Seattle that aims to dramatically reduce environmental impacts of building construction and operations. What does the practical application of this goal look like? Join Herrera’s Chris Webb, Jason King, and Meghan Feller as they co-present with the District’s Matthew Combe “Crowdsourcing Design at a District Scale with the 2030 District Water Goal Calculator” at the Living Future 2015 unConference in Seattle, Thursday, April 2rd. The interactive session will use the Seattle 2030 District Water calculator as a tool for a number of hands-on exercises that focus on site scale solutions that optimize district-wide results. Through game-based, iterative scenarios, teams will develop options for managing water while enhancing urban ecology and user engagement. Throughout the session, the combination of scenarios and stories will shift the discussion of water from an urban dilemma to how it can become a catalyst for community change.
