			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>(Seattle, WA)</em> Herrera seeks an Entry-level Process Geomorphologist to conduct geomorphic field investigations and collect related data in streams and rivers,  plan field investigations in collaboration with project team members, identify geomorphic hazards, apply scientific reasoning to evaluate geomorphic processes and responses in streams, rivers, and floodplains, and prepare written reports in support of habitat restoration, bank stabilization, and infrastructure protection projects.  The candidate would be required to work as part of an interdisciplinary team of geomorphologists, engineers, biologists, and ecologists on a variety of engineering projects located primarily in the Pacific Northwest, with additional opportunities to work throughout the Western U.S. and China.</p>
<p>Position Requirements:  </p>
<p>To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:</p>
<p>•	Bachelor’s degree in earth sciences or related field.<br />
•	Master’s degree in geological sciences, civil engineering, or related field with an emphasis in fluvial processes.<br />
•	Field experience using standard methods to collect geomorphic data in riverine environments and prepare geomorphic maps.<br />
•	Experience in open channel hydraulics, sediment transport and budgets, and the physical effects of woody debris.<br />
•	Ability to interpret geologic processes through field observations and reviews of geologic maps, reports, aerial photographs, lidar topography, and other geologic data.<br />
•	Ability to conduct field investigations under physically demanding conditions.<br />
•	Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete work assignments in accordance with project schedules and budgets.<br />
•	Excellent scientific writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.<br />
•	Commitment to continued personal and professional development through training and opportunities for growth.</p>
<p>In addition to the above requirements, the following skills and experience are desired for this position:</p>
<p>•	Experience with riverine and coastal environments in the Pacific Northwest.<br />
•	Experience with the ecology of the Pacific Northwest.<br />
•	Experience with ArcGIS and Spatial Analyst.<br />
•	Hydraulic modeling experience.<br />
•	Experience with landslide and debris flow hazard assessments.<br />
•	Hillslope geomorphology and slope stability experience.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>(Seattle, WA)</em> The current position opening is for a part-time (20 hours per week) water resource engineer with 2-3 years professional experience specific to the duties outlined below.  The position requires fluency speaking and writing in Chinese and English languages.  The position will include work on the following types of projects:</p>
<ul>
<li>Low impact development planning and design for private and municipal clients</li>
<li>Stormwater detention and water quality treatment system design</li>
<li>Stormwater conveyance system modeling and design</li>
<li>Translation of technical documentation and designs between English and Chinese</li>
<li>Stormwater guidance and policy development</li>
<li>Stormwater program development</li>
<li>General civil site development and design</li>
<li>Up to 25% travel time out of the country</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong><br />
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>Fluency speaking and writing in Chinese and English languages, and experience communicating stormwater and water resource issues in both languages</li>
<li>Ability to travel out of the country approximately 3-4 days per month</li>
<li>Undergraduate degree in civil engineering or a related field (Master&#8217;s degree preferred)</li>
<li>2-3 years professional experience in stormwater and surface water management; civil and environmental engineering</li>
<li>Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills</li>
<li>EIT certification (PE preferred)</li>
</ul>
