Herrera Environmental Consultants, Reclamation Research Group, and the U.S. Forest Service will join forces to deliver a training program in Soil Bioengineering and Native Plan Revegetation. The course will cover disturbed land restoration including transportation corridors, burned areas, abandoned mines, and riparian zones. The three-day training will include two days of classroom presentations and an all-day field trip to a local mine site, emphasizing a diversity of soil and native plan revegetation examples.

(Seattle, WA) The current position opening is for a part-time (20 hours per week) water resource engineer with 2-3 years professional experience specific to the duties outlined below. The position requires fluency speaking and writing in Chinese and English languages. The position will include work on the following types of projects:
• Low impact development planning and design for private and municipal clients
• Stormwater detention and water quality treatment system design
• Stormwater conveyance system modeling and design
• Translation of technical documentation and designs between English and Chinese
• Stormwater guidance and policy development
• Stormwater program development
• General civil site development and design
• Up to 25% travel time out of the country
Position Requirements:
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
• Fluency speaking and writing in Chinese and English languages, and experience communicating stormwater and water resource issues in both languages
• Ability to travel out of the country approximately 3-4 days per month
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• 2-3 years professional experience in stormwater and surface water management; civil and environmental engineering
• Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
• EIT certification (PE preferred)
