Herrera Environmental Consultants, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of Diane Hennessey to our natural resources group. Ms. Hennessey has expertise in wetland, stream, and wildlife studies, natural resource planning and policy development, permitting, and environmental impact analysis. She recently managed and prepared preliminary wetland, stream, and wildlife studies and developed GIS maps for siting King County’s new Brightwater Wastewater Treatment facility. Josh Wozniak joined Herrera’s natural resources group in 2002. His expertise includes vegetation mapping and analysis, wetland evaluations, Endangered Species Act compliance, NEPA and SEPA analysis, biological assessments, forestry, botany, and evaluations of wildlife habitat. Mr. Wozniak has been evaluating biological resource implications for siting King County’s new Brightwater wastewater treatment facility, conducting biological assessments of bridge replacements for King County and slope stabilization projects for the Washington Department of Transportation, and developing mitigation plans for preserving wetlands, riparian areas, and floodplain boundaries including the proposed site of King County’s new Elliott Bridge near Renton, Washington.

Herrera is pleased to announce the expansion of its ecological restoration services with the addition of several staff members in 2002: Tim Abbe, PhD, RG, Maeve McBride, and Erich Hester. Dr. Abbe is a well-known regional expert in river restoration and leads Herrera’s river science and geomorphology group. Ms. McBride and Mr. Hester are engineers specializing in fluvial and tidal habitat restoration; stormwater and flood control evaluation and design; and watershed water quality evaluation. Dr. Abbe, Ms. McBride, and Mr. Hester are working with additional Herrera habitat specialists to restore river and coastal ecosystems for numerous municipal, agency, and tribal clients throughout Alaska, Washington, and Oregon.
